Hey parents! We know raising little ones can be challenging, and as Early Childhood Educators, we’re here to support you and your child every step of the way. But we’ve got a few things we rely on that parents should know—because, at the end of the day, we’re a team! Here’s what will help make your child’s time with us smooth and happy.

1. We’re a Team – Communication is Key!

First off, we’re on the same side! If something big is happening at home, like a loss, divorce, or even the death of a beloved pet, please tell us. You might not realize it, but big life events can have a huge impact on your child’s behavior. We see it all the time—kids act out when they’re processing big emotions, and we’re in the dark. If we know what’s going on, we can offer extra love, support, and patience to help them through it. We’ll work together with you to make sure they feel safe, even during tough times.

2. Sick Kids Belong in Bed, Not in Class

We get it, your child gets sick a lot. It’s super normal for kids between 0-5 to catch colds, especially when they start preschool. Their immune systems are still learning to fight off germs. But here’s the deal—if your child is sick, they need to rest, not tough it out in class. No amount of cleaning will stop the spread of every germ, and when kids are sick, they need their bed, not a busy classroom.

Please, don’t give them medicine to mask the symptoms just to get through the day. Trust us, we know when our kiddos aren’t feeling well. They can’t learn or have fun when they’re sick, and they could spread it to others. So, let’s work together to keep everyone healthy!

3. Quick Drop-Offs = Happy Kids!

We know drop-offs can be rough. Seeing your little one cry or cling to you can break your heart, but long, drawn-out goodbyes make the transition harder for everyone. When you drop off your child, let them know you love them, give them a big hug, and then—this is important—go! The faster the drop-off, the easier it is for them to adjust. Believe us, the crying usually stops soon after you leave. They’ll settle into their day faster, feel more secure, and be ready to learn and play with their friends.

So, here’s what parents should know: We’re here for your child, and we’re here for you. Open communication, keeping sick kiddos at home, and quick drop-offs all go a long way in making sure your little one gets the best care possible. We’re a team, and together, we can give your child the best start in life!
